Settima: All-in-One ePTO for Piaggio Group
On the occasion of IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover, Settima Meccanica, part of Green Silence Group, unveils a major milestone in its technological journey: the new Continuum® | SpinRel® All-In-One ePTO, an advanced Electric Power Take-Off system developed for the new Piaggio Group NPe full-electric platform.
Designed to meet the evolving needs of professional and commercial vehicles, Continuum® | SpinRel® All-In-One ePTO combines high electro-hydraulic efficiency, ultra-low noise emissions, and rare-earth-free technology within a compact, plug-and-play architecture.
Its development reflects a key transformation underway across the commercial vehicle sector. As electric powertrains become increasingly widespread, the electrification of auxiliary functions is emerging as a strategic priority. From waste collection vehicles to municipal and professional applications, modern fleets require technologies capable of delivering reliable hydraulic power without compromising the productivity and performance of electric platforms.
Electrification Beyond the Powertrain
The transition to electric mobility is not simply about replacing an internal combustion engine with an electric motor. Professional vehicles rely on numerous auxiliary systems required for daily operations, many of which have traditionally been powered through conventional hydraulic solutions.
Continuum® | SpinRel® All-In-One ePTO was developed to address this challenge by providing a fully electric solution for hydraulic applications, specifically engineered for seamless integration into electric vehicle architectures.
Already adopted in waste collection vehicles, the technology demonstrates how the electrification of auxiliary equipment can support the development of quieter and more efficient vehicles, particularly suited to urban environments.
Its plug-and-play architecture has been designed to simplify integration across a wide range of professional applications, offering a flexible technology platform capable of supporting the ongoing evolution of electric commercial vehicles.
Two Technologies. One Vision.
At the heart of the Continuum® | SpinRel® All-In-One ePTO are two proprietary technologies developed within Green Silence Group: Continuum® and SpinRel®.
Continuum® technology delivers ultra-quiet operation, addressing one of the most critical challenges in modern urban mobility. Noise reduction has become increasingly important for professional vehicles operating in densely populated areas, where daily activities take place in close proximity to residential communities and public spaces.
Alongside it is SpinRel®, the high-power-density motor technology that operates without the use of rare-earth materials.
The integration of these two technologies enables Continuum® | SpinRel® All-In-One ePTO to combine hydraulic performance, efficiency, and acoustic comfort with an innovative approach to engineering and material selection.
The result is a new generation of electro-hydraulic systems.
Rare-Earth-Free Electrification
The evolution of electric mobility is creating new technological challenges related to materials, efficiency, and supply chains.
With SpinRel®, Settima Meccanica has developed an approach to electrification that eliminates the use of rare-earth materials within its electro-hydraulic technology while maintaining high levels of efficiency and performance.
This represents a significant element of the company’s innovation strategy: developing solutions that combine performance and reliability with a more conscious approach to materials and technologies supporting the transition toward electric mobility.
For Settima Meccanica, rare-earth-free electrification is not merely a technical feature. It is part of a broader strategic vision for the future of professional mobility, where efficiency, sustainability, and engineering excellence evolve together.
Electro-Hydraulic Engineering for the Mobility of Tomorrow
The debut of Continuum® | SpinRel® All-In-One ePTO at IAA Transportation 2026 represents much more than the launch of a new product. It embodies the evolution of Settima Meccanica, together with SPIN Applicazioni Magnetiche, the Group’s engineering company, toward a new generation of electro-hydraulic solutions.
The collaboration with Piaggio Group on the fully electric NPe platform provides a concrete example of this approach, combining the advancement of electric vehicles with innovative technology for managing auxiliary functions.
At IAA Transportation, Settima Meccanica brings this vision to the international stage: a vision in which professional vehicles become increasingly efficient, quieter, and more sustainable, supported by technologies specifically designed for the new era of electrification.
Driving the New Era of Rare-Earth-Free Electrification.
